Our client is a bank based in Luxembourg, part of a major international financial group with a worldwide presence.

The bank specialises in services for the investment funds industry: depositary banking, custody, clearing and fund administration. Its clients are mainly asset managers and institutional investors, both within the group and outside it.

It is a well-established player on the Luxembourg market, with several decades of experience behind it. A mid-sized organisation, large enough to offer a solid structure, and small enough for your work to have a direct impact.

WHY THE COMPANY NEEDS YOU

Our client is looking for an experienced finance leader to head its Finance Division and support the bank as regulatory requirements and the Group's operating structure keep evolving.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As Head of Finance, you are responsible for all financial operations of the bank and their compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your main objective: make sure that every financial, prudential, statistical and Group report is accurate, on time and fully controlled, while keeping the finance processes solid and scalable.

In practice:

• You manage the bank's accounting: general accounting, consolidation of subsidiaries, balance sheet and P&L.

• You oversee budget planning, expense management and cost control.

• You plan and manage corporate tax and VAT.

• You supervise the Procurement function: third-party providers, due diligence, contracts, risk management and DORA compliance for ICT providers.

• You ensure the timely and error-free submission of all regulatory and Group reports.

• You keep reporting processes documented, auditable and as automated as possible.

• You maintain policies, procedures and manuals.

• You lead and develop your team.

• You support the Authorized Management and the Board on all accounting and regulatory reporting matters.

• You take part in new projects and in adapting the organisation to regulatory and Group changes.

• You work with IT on system enhancements from a finance perspective.

• You manage internal and external audits for your scope.

For example:

A regulatory deadline is approaching and some data from another department arrives late. You prioritise, secure what can be secured and make sure the submission is correct and on time.

An ICT service provider's contract needs to be reviewed to meet DORA requirements. You coordinate with Procurement, IT and Risk to bring it into compliance.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You lead a team of experienced professionals across finance and regulatory reporting. You work closely with IT, the Authorized Management, the Board and your counterparts at Group level.

YOUR PROFILE, WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• You hold a Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• You have at least 10 years of experience in a senior Financial Accounting or Audit role in the banking sector in Luxembourg or Europe, with real exposure to regulatory reporting.

• You speak fluent English. French is an advantage.

• You have managed multi-functional teams.

• You are analytical, precise and you respect deadlines.

• You communicate clearly and diplomatically with management, the Board, the regulators (notably the CSSF and the BCL) and Group senior management.

• You enjoy coaching people and helping them grow.

• You are comfortable with Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of the Olympic Banking System is a strong advantage.

• You are discreet, motivated, positive and a real team player.

• You live in Luxembourg or the Greater Region, for example the Arlon or Metz area.

TURN AROUND IF...

• You prefer a purely hands-on accounting role without a management dimension.

• You are not comfortable interacting with regulators and a Board of Directors.

• You have no experience with banking regulatory reporting.
